MyMcDonald’s Rewards: Points Chart, Value & App Guide (2026)
MyMcDonald’s Rewards is McDonald’s free loyalty program in the McDonald’s app. You earn 100 points for every $1 spent and trade them for free food, starting with Hash Browns or a small coffee at 1,500 points. This guide shows the current points chart, works out which rewards give the most value, and covers expiration, the app’s other features and the Arch Card gift card.
How MyMcDonald’s Rewards Works
You earn 100 points for each $1 spent on eligible items when you order in the app or scan your 4-digit Rewards code at the counter, drive-thru or kiosk. Taxes, bag fees, Arch Card loads and delivery fees don’t earn points.
- Download the McDonald’s app and create an account; Rewards is free.
- Opt in to Rewards in the Rewards & Deals tab.
- Earn on every order by ordering in the app or giving your 4-digit code before you pay.
- Redeem any reward you have enough points for; you still earn points on the rest of that order.
McDonald’s Rewards Points Chart
McDonald’s USA has six reward tiers: 1,500, 2,000, 3,500, 4,000, 5,000 and 7,000 points. Each tier unlocks a set of free items, except 4,000 points, which gives $3 off an order of $3 or more.

How Much Are McDonald’s Points Worth?
McDonald’s points are worth about $0.75 to $1.95 per 1,000 points, depending on what you redeem. The lower tiers give the best return: a Cheeseburger at 2,000 points works out to about 19% back on your spending, while a Big Mac at 7,000 points returns about 10%.

- Skip the $3-off tier: 4,000 points for $3 is the weakest value at about 7.5% back.
- Redeem the priciest item in a tier: within 7,000 points, a Sausage, Egg & Cheese McGriddles is worth more than a Big Mac at typical prices.
- Best overall: a Cheeseburger at 2,000 points or Hash Browns at 1,500 points.
Value uses the midpoint of typical reported prices, October 2026. “Back on spending” assumes 100 points per $1.

You can redeem in the app, at the drive-thru, at the counter or at a kiosk.

- One reward per order. Split purchases into separate orders if you want two rewards.
- Rewards plus deals: you can use a deal and still earn points; using a reward and a deal together depends on the deal’s terms.
Do McDonald’s Points Expire?
Yes. McDonald’s points expire on the first day of the month after the sixth month from when you earned them. Points earned in January, for example, expire on August 1.

The app shows your oldest points first, so redeem a small reward before a batch expires. Points can’t be shared or transferred to another account.

Arch Card: McDonald’s Gift Card Balance and Rules
The Arch Card is McDonald’s gift card. You can check the balance on McDonald’s Arch Card balance page, by calling Arch Card customer care at 1-800-244-6227, or, for funds added in the app, under Payment Methods in your profile.
